Chelsea boots are close-fitting, ankle-high boots with an elastic side panel. The boot dates back to the Victorian era, when it was worn by both men and women. Chelsea boots and some of its variants were considered an iconic element of the 1960s in Britain, particularly the mod scene.
AGO: A mini revolution took place in 1911 when the Milan-based tanner Francesco Rampichini invented a new, permanent way of bonding leather. This light and shape-retentive construction method went down in the history of shoemaking as AGO (Another Great Opportunity). The AGO leather adhesive is used to affix the leather upper to the underside of the insole. The outsole is then glued on top. This construction technique is the youngest of all production methods.
Cork is a very important natural material in this process because in addition to performing a technical function of filling the cavity created between the insole and the sole, it also performs the task of isolating from heat and cold and absorbing humidity. This material remains soft over time and thanks to body heat, skin moisture and body weight is shaped according to the pressure exerted by the foot thus creating a customized anatomical insole.
