Silvano Sassetti Desert Boot Cervo Rovesciato Sand
This variant is sold out
The essential „Desert Boot“ (or Chukka) is ankle-high, open-laced, and unlined, with two pairs of eyelets and rounded toes. Historically „Chukkas“ refer to a form of desert boots originally worn by British soldiers in the Western Desert Campaign.
This is Silvano Sassettis interpretation of this iconic boot: the sole has a rubber insert which is integrated into the leather sole to prevent from slipping. The extremely soft deer leather is washed and after natural drying, the leather is brushed by hand. Special attention comes to the hand stitched heel construction.
Cork is a very important natural material in this process because in addition to performing a technical function of filling the cavity created between the insole and the sole, it also performs the task of isolating from heat and cold and absorbing humidity. This material remains soft over time and thanks to body heat, skin moisture and body weight is shaped according to the pressure exerted by the foot thus creating a customized anatomical insole.
